This collection of paintings is titled “yin series.” Inspired by my studies of Chinese medicine, tai chi, or the yin-yang symbol, represents the transformative energies that exist in the universe and in all sentient beings. Yin and yang are the complementary opposites that interact to form a greater whole within our macro and microcosmic systems. This series focuses primarily on our yin aspect. Yin, the black half of the tai chi symbol, can be associated with nourishment, storage, contemplation, intuition, and restoration. The geometric integration is a reference to sacred geometry. Sacred geometry are naturally occurring patterns found in all of nature in golden ratio proportions. It is considered the product of the balance between chaos and order. This symbolizes a delicate state of harmony within and around the multi-dimensions of reality. Lastly, the watercolor elements represent fluidity, change, and impermanence. The various color palettes reflect our innate connection to the elements of nature.
As an artist and a healer, I believe that what we absorb with our eyes sparks an exchange of yin and yang energy within our meridian systems.
These paintings are created with the intention to engage and inspire the viewer to attune into their own natural yin state. The “yin series” is especially beneficial for those who seek more restorative and nurturing assistance.
When there is disharmony in the body, we can often sense the energetic blockages or the disruption in patterns. The integration of sacred geometry, watercolor elements, and symbolism of yin and yang, suggests a movement back into harmony and returning to a sense of wholeness.
